Help raise awareness of bikers in the UK

Bennetts the UK’s No.1 Bike Insurance Specialist has launched a Government e-petition to try and get least one motorbike-related question in every driving theory test to increase awareness of bikers on the road.

Hannah Squirrell, Director of Marketing at Bennetts said, “With questions currently selected at random, there is no guarantee that a question relating to the awareness of motorcyclists will arise in the current driving theory test format, so our ‘Motorcyclists Matter’ campaign is set to challenge that. With the casualty rate of motorcyclists currently a staggering 61 times greater than that of motorists. At Bennetts we believe road users need educating on the importance of other vulnerable road users to help try to reduce the number of causalities in 2012.”

Here at ww.inter-bike.co.uk we agree that every road user needs to be more biker aware and hopefully the compulsory inclusion of at least one motorcycle related question in the driving theory test will make all road users think more about the presence of motorcyclists on the roads. You can support this campaign by signing the e-petition at http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/26272.
